The initial project was a small annex to an existing one level building and later, by adding other features, it became a standalone two levels building.
The main destination is focused on the simulator room, as the regulations stipulate the continue training for the air traffic controllers. Beside that, the client also requested a multifunctional room, so we had to place these two functions on one level each.
Another challenge was to integrate the building into an ensemble whose dominant color was yellow. So we designed the facades as a pixelated transition from yellow to gray, in order to merge the building with the other buildings on the site, but also to create a distinctive image for it.
